Wow! From start to finish we were welcomed by genuine staff who clearly take care and pride in their work. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms super comfortable. The housekeeping staff are on it all the time. A warm welcome at reception and club lounge every time of day. Worthwhile upgrading to club room for the lounge services. The spa was relaxing and not too busy when we were there. Location is perfect for getting around. A tram stop 5 mins walk. The castle right there. It’s nicely tucked away from the crowded streets. Perfect base if out and about it staying in.

Spa day and gin tasting

Had vouchers for a day pass for the Spa and a gin tasting in the One Square bar. The spa was lovely and clean and the staff helpful. Tibor, who did the gin tasting for us, was ready for us when we arrived. Had four lovely gins and canapés (and they were able to accommodate our dietary requirements). Tibor was knowledgeable and provided a great overview of the gins we were drinking.

Fantastic stay for my boyfriend’s birthday before Christmas. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful, there is also a car park for cheap each night you stay. The room was very modern, bed was super comfy and lots of pillows. There was a jacuzzi bath and mood lighting as well as lots of storage and a nice little window. The hotel is in a great location, we were able to walk to the Christmas markets and lots of sights around Edinburgh. We did not get a taxi or bus once. The spa is £75 for both of you to use. This is worth it as you are able to use the thermal suite, this has 3/4 saunas and steam rooms with different temperatures and benefits. There is also an infinity jacuzzi pool which starts inside but leads to outside. You can go in the morning or evening but we went between 5-7pm this was a little busy we feel they should have a maximum amount of people in at once. This was definitely worth it see the photos attached. The gym is also a very good size lots of machines, treadmills and free weight sections. The hotel is slightly expensive but it is very good value and worth the price for the quality service and location in Edinburgh - also we went at Christmas so was probably more expensive.

We stayed at this Sheraton at the beginning of our 10 day trip to Scotland. We stayed here for three nights, and it was absolutely amazing! First off, we booked a standard room with a king bed and I’m pretty sure it’s the biggest hotel room we’ve stayed at in a few years. It had a separate stand up shower and a huge tub that was actually worth taking a bath in. we also loved that. There were two entrances to the bathroom area from the rest of the room. This was really nice to have the private space so we could get ready and use the bathroom simultaneously. We typically don’t spend a ton of time in our hotel rooms while we’re traveling, it’s normally just a place for us to rest our head at night, but because we love this room so much, we made sure to spend a little extra time here. The hotel is walking distance from the Royal Mile. There is a slight incline, depending which direction you walk. The restaurant and bar in the hotel also had some great offerings with great service. we also ordered room service and thought the pricing wasn’t too expensive compared to some other hotels. There’s also plenty of other restaurants within walking distance. The price of this hotel is definitely on the higher end, but it’s an experience that you “get what you pay for”. If you have Marriott rewards, we highly recommend saving up so you can stay here when you visit Edinburgh!

A Welcoming Edinburgh Experience

Front desk staff realized that we were older and needed to get rest after long connecting flights from the US. Our room had been upgraded to a Castle View room however it was not yet available. We were given a hospitality room to shower and rest. At 3:30pm I woke up and I had a message on my phone that our room was ready. We both really needed the rest so I’d like to thank Sheraton Grand for their kindness. Room was beautiful and well appointed. Shower and tub separate so much easier for seniors. The bed and pillows were heavenly. A great TV selection for people from the US. Our room was promptly taken care of every day by the outstanding housekeeping staff. Our room was very close to the lift but we never heard it or any noise outside our room. Service in the Club lounge was very attentive and delicious canapés were served from 5-7pm every day and my husband got his fill of free scotch and sodas during that time. We took the breakfast in the hotel breakfast restaurant, not the lounge. It’s not a buffet but the offerings were plenty and delicious. Full English breakfast or made to order omelettes. Vegan choices. Great selection of juice. You could also add breakfast pastries or a yummy fresh fruit cup. We loved the hostess, Naomi (spelling). She was so witty and friendly. All the servers were terrific. The sour dough toast is the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. This delicious breakfast was included for Platinum and higher. A short walk put us at the bus stop and we’d catch Bus #30 to the Royal Mile. You can tap your credit card as you enter the bus. Super easy for getting around. Catch Bus #30 at the Royal Mile across the street from the bus that got you there to come back. Lots of shopping on Princes St. There were plenty of restaurants a very short walking distance away from this hotel.
